University Student Stabs Roommate Amid Noise Dispute

Following his arrest, the divisional police officer arranged for a medical examiner to perform a toxicology test.

In a troubling incident at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Koya Ayodeji, a 25-year-old Business Education student in his final year, was apprehended for allegedly stabbing his roommate Ayobami Ajayi, a 21-year-old third-year Mass Communication student, in the abdomen. This occurred on January 21 during a dispute over noise levels in their shared living space.

Ayodeji reported to the authorities that he had asked Ajayi to lower the volume but to no avail. This frustration escalated into a confrontation, during which he stabbed Ajayi in the stomach in a moment of rage.

Investigations suggest that Ayodeji may have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. Following his arrest, authorities promptly coordinated with a medical examiner to perform a toxicology assessment.

Ajayi was swiftly taken to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, where he underwent surgery and is now reported to be stable.

Once the investigation concludes, charges will be filed against Ayodeji in court.
