A Nigerian woman has described a distressing encounter with a male friend who allegedly attempted to assault her in a club.
This revelation came after she and her acquaintances confronted the man she accused of attempted assault.
She took to X to recount her experience.
She stated, “In September, a male acquaintance tried to rape me, and I have since been coordinating with law enforcement to address the situation.”
Despite ongoing efforts from the police, she repeatedly spotted him in local clubs. “It’s important to note that I continue to see him at clubs, and when he notices me, he shamelessly throws money in my direction,” she recounted.
On one occasion, she and a friend encountered him at a club, prompting her to dish out a confrontation. “Last night, I caught sight of him again, and he stared directly at me, clearly without regret. After the event, my friends and I went to our usual late-night haunt.”
“The circumstances weighed heavily on me, and I ended up in tears. At that moment, he entered with his friends. In a moment of courage, I approached him and reminded him that I hadn’t forgotten what he had done and that we needed to address it.”
She further elaborated, “My friends intervened, leading to a heated exchange with him and his crew. Throughout, he sat casually, laughing and not refuting any claims, fully aware of his actions.”
The situation deteriorated rapidly. “In short, his associate, who was part of the attempted assault, hit me hard enough to knock me out, causing blood to flow from my mouth and body. When restaurant staff revived me, I realized my friend had also been attacked and her clothes ripped. They boasted of having political influence, stating I couldn’t take any action against them. They may evade justice now, but at least I will share my story and fight for justice.”
She shared photos of her injuries, encouraging public support. “Here are some clips depicting the violence I endured. Please help disseminate this information and share their identities.”
She concluded with a heartfelt message: “I apologize for any errors; my hands are trembling. I know there are many similar cases that go unaddressed due to people like him who project power and influence.”
