Vice President Shettima Honors Sanusi with Recognition as the 16th Emir of Kano

Shettima, in posts shared on his official Facebook and X accounts, has referred to Sanusi as the 16th Emir, which many users on social media interpreted as a sign of support for Sanusi’s claim to the throne.

However, following some mixed reactions online, the third paragraph of the post was amended to exclude the mention of the emir’s name.

It now states, “The wedding, which took place at the Kano Emir’s palace, was led by the Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zahraddeen.”
