Mrs. Stella Ayowale, residing in Osi-Igoba, Akure, Ondo State, has approached the courts after her husband purportedly sold their shared family home and car without her knowledge, subsequently fleeing to another country under the guise of a business trip to Abuja.
Unaware of her husband’s actions, Ayowale received shocking news when she was approached by the new owner’s representatives, who demanded her departure.
She had been informed by her husband, Michael, that he was going to Abuja for a business deal, leaving her with only N20,000 for her weekly domestic needs.
The reality of her situation dawned on her only after being formally notified by the buyers.
Additionally, she noted that since the sale, her husband’s family members have distanced themselves, suggesting she may have been intentionally excluded from this decision.
As reported by the state-run Hope Newspaper, a neighbor has offered Mrs. Ayowale a temporary place to stay while she seeks help from her own family and legal representation.
This incident highlights the difficulties couples encounter in safeguarding shared property and the necessity for legal protections during transactions.
Reports indicate that Mrs. Ayowale is resolute in her pursuit of justice through the legal system as the case unfolds.
Members of the community have shown their support, acknowledging the significant emotional and financial strains involved.
