Gov Seyi Makinde
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed his belief that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will succeed in the upcoming governorship elections in Ondo State, scheduled for November 16.
Recently, Ondo State’s Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa asserted that the PDP is no longer significant in the region.
Additionally, Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claimed that the APC would soon dominate the South West states, beginning with the Ondo election victory.
During his campaign in Ikare Akoko, Makinde stated that both Aiyedatiwa and Ganduje would be surprised by the results of the governorship elections.
As he addressed supporters in Akoko, Makinde confidently stated that the PDP remains a strong force in Ondo State and is ready to claim victory.
He remarked, “Wishing does not equate to reality; the people of South-West Nigeria, especially in Ondo, are astute. Just look at the crowd and their excitement here in Akoko.
“Come November 16, the public will demonstrate that Ondo State and the South-West belong to the PDP.”
In response to Aiyedatiwa’s claims regarding the PDP’s demise, Makinde commented, “Talk is easy; claims can be made, but the true voice of Ondo State will resonate on November 16, 2024, and everyone will take notice.
“Mark my words: on November 16, PDP will rise, and Agboola Ajayi will be declared the governor-elect. This is not mere speculation; it reflects the will of the people, which is palpable around us.”
