Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, advocates for men to marry younger women to promote longevity.
In a recent post on social media, he backed his viewpoint with religious, biological, and sociocultural reasoning.
He noted the importance of considering biological needs, suggesting that marrying someone closer in age could lead to problems in intimacy as the couple ages.
He articulated:
“Before opting for a partner your age or slightly younger, think carefully. Take example from the first marriage—God created Adam first, who was already settled and mature before Eve was introduced. They were not of the same age group.”
“Marriage transcends just love and feelings. Men have physical needs too. Unless you’re an outlier, you’ll likely maintain vitality into your nineties, while women typically experience menopause in their forties. What then? Will you become celibate and risk health issues like prostate cancer? Or will you seek affairs?”
“These considerations are vital before choosing a partner, as adopting a purely Western approach can have bodily ramifications. An ideal age gap between spouses is between ten to fifteen years if you seek a longer life.”
“Research supports that men who wed significantly younger partners often enjoy longer lives compared to those who marry peers. Marrying someone older is akin to a gamble!”
