Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku Addresses PSG Transfer Speculation
Christopher Nkunku, a Chelsea player, has responded to rumors about a potential transfer back to Paris Saint-Germain in 2025.
The talented forward is off to a fantastic start this season, scoring seven goals in 11 games, as coach Enzo Maresca puts his trust in him.
At 26 years old, Nkunku’s excellent performance has led to his return to the France national team, enhancing his Chelsea career which initially faced challenges.
He missed a significant portion of the 2023/24 season due to a knee injury but made a brief appearance towards the end of the campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.
Although he is signed with Chelsea until 2029, with an option for an extra year, PSG is reportedly keeping a close eye on his development.
During his time at RB Leipzig, there were rumors about his desire to return to Paris, but he ultimately chose to join Chelsea.
Though he was known for his potential as an academy player, he did not receive ample first-team opportunities at PSG, leading to his transfer to Leipzig in 2019.
While on international duty with France, Nkunku was asked about the PSG rumors and firmly ruled out the possibility of leaving Chelsea, saying, “PSG is a significant club, but no approach has been made,” as reported by Telefoot, via Sky Sports.
He recently scored his first goal for the national team during a 4-1 victory over Israel in the UEFA Nations League and is expected to start in the upcoming match against Belgium.
