Barcelona enjoyed a remarkable season thanks to manager Hansi Flick, who made an impressive debut.
This marked Dani Olmo’s first year with the Catalans, having joined the team last summer amid various injury issues and registration challenges. Despite these hurdles, he has had a standout season.
He concluded the 2024/25 La Liga campaign with nine goals and three assists, featuring in 23 matches of which he started 13. His contributions off the bench and in cup competitions proved crucial.
Recent reports indicate that Premier League powerhouse Manchester City has expressed interest in the Spanish midfielder, with Pep Guardiola being particularly fond of the 27-year-old, who is also capable of playing as a forward.
Nevertheless, Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, recently shared insights with Sky Sports Germany concerning the burgeoning rumors surrounding his client and potential Premier League moves.
“We are not engaging in discussions with any other club. Dani is truly happy at Barcelona right now, where he’s collecting trophies and part of a formidable squad.

“These rumors are unfounded. However, the future is unpredictable.”
This isn’t Manchester City’s first attempt to sign the talented Spaniard; they sought to acquire him from RB Leipzig back in 2023, but that move fell through.
Currently, Guardiola views him as an optimal candidate to replace Bernardo Silva in the midfield, especially since the Portuguese player has been reportedly informed that he does not fit into the club’s plans for the next season. With a year remaining in his contract, City are open to offers for Silva.
Yet, Olmo has adapted well to Flick’s system and is poised for even greater achievements in the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old transitioned smoothly into the Catalan framework, largely due to his previous experience at La Masia, where he trained for seven years from 2007 to 2014.
In addition to Manchester City, Liverpool is also monitoring the Spaniard’s situation. However, according to his agent, any potential deal would be complicated since the player just relocated last year and might not be seeking another move this summer.
