Manchester City is looking into the possibility of transferring club captain Kyle Walker after the 2024/25 season.
The 34-year-old has been instrumental in the team’s achievements under Pep Guardiola, establishing himself as one of the elite right-backs globally during his tenure at the Etihad Stadium.
Since his £50m ($65m) transfer from Tottenham in July 2017, Walker has celebrated six Premier League championships, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and the UEFA Champions League victory in 2023.
However, with potential significant changes anticipated at the club, Walker’s future remains uncertain.
Guardiola has not provided clear information about his intentions, as his contract also expires in June, raising the chances of Walker seeking a new opportunity.
While the England international has had some controversies off the field recently, he continues to be a pivotal player for Guardiola.
Kyle Walker’s Contract and Transfer Valuation at Manchester City
Walker’s current contract with City is active until the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, but it seems unlikely that the Premier League champions will offer him an extension.
As he approaches the final year of his contract at the end of this season, the opportunity for City to secure a transfer fee diminishes, prompting potential action to move him on.
According to the Daily Star, Walker’s transfer value has decreased to £15m ($20m), with Al-Ahli from the Saudi Pro League reportedly preparing a bid.
A transfer to Saudi Arabia could provide Walker with a substantial final contract—an offer not currently available at City—but they would prefer to finalize the deal before next season begins.
