Nigerians have been responding to an open letter written by Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon to Thaddeus Attah, the Eti-Osa Labour party’s candidate who won the election last Saturday, February 25. This win came as a surprise to many, as Bankole Wellington (BankyW) was the favored candidate. Deyemi’s letter congratulated Thaddeus for his victory, but he also mentioned that he had voted for BankyW and believed he would have been the best candidate. He then extended an invitation to Thaddeus to join him for a live session this weekend, to address any concerns that residents may have about the Labour Party representative.
However, many Nigerians have taken to Deyemi’s comment section to criticize the letter, claiming it is condescending to Thaddeus and that Deyemi and others have written him off without giving him a chance to prove himself.
