The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed that Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, a former beauty queen, has turned herself in to the NDLEA’s Lagos command.

Accused of evading authorities for eight months, Aderinoye, who held the title of Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture in 2015/2016, was wanted for drug-related offenses after fleeing during an NDLEA raid on her Lekki apartment in January 2024.

During the raid, a significant amount of illicit substances, including Canadian Loud, an electronic scale, drug packaging materials, and a vehicle, were confiscated from her residence.

According to NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, Aderinoye, also known as Queen Christmas, surrendered to the agency claiming she had been hiding in Akure, Ondo State since her escape in January.

In separate operations, NDLEA intercepted large quantities of tramadol pills and codeine-based syrup worth millions of naira at various ports like Port Harcourt Port Complex and Tincan seaport.

Intelligence reports led to the discovery of shipments from India, resulting in the successful interception of these controlled substances with the cooperation of customs and other security agencies.

Seizures included codeine syrup bottles and tramadol pills found in containers at different port locations, adding up to significant street value amounts.

Furthermore, arrests were made in different states, including the apprehension of individuals attempting to transport tramadol, codeine syrup, and cannabis through various means.
