How Kidnappers Killed 19-year-old Moroccan University Student After Collecting N17M Ransom In Nasarawa

Recently, a distressing incident has come to light involving the murder of a 19-year-old student named Anas Zubairu in Nasarawa State by kidnappers.

Tragically, Zubairu was abducted on a Friday evening at around 6 p.m. in Lafia and later killed by his captors despite the payment of ransom.

Reports from Daily Trust reveal that the family of the victim had to pay a whopping N17 million as ransom for his safe return.

It was revealed that Zubairu, who was a student at a university in Morocco, was back home on vacation when he was taken against his will.

After spending some time with his family, he left to secure the entrance gate and while returning to his house, he was shot in the left shoulder by the kidnappers who had been lying in wait nearby.

Speaking on the harrowing ordeal, a close family member, who opted to remain anonymous, shared that Zubairu was shot and then moved to an undisclosed location by his abductors.

Subsequently, five days after the abduction, the family was contacted by the criminals demanding a ransom of N30 million, which was later negotiated down to N17 million and duly paid by the family.

Regrettably, just two days after the payment was made, the kidnappers went silent and later informed the family on an early Sunday morning that Zubairu had been tragically killed.
