A concerning video has emerged showing students sitting for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) under difficult circumstances, particularly due to a power outage during their English Language test.
This clip, which was posted on Wednesday by a social media user named #Omolomo_o on X (previously Twitter), reveals a WAEC exam center in Nigeria where students were seen attempting their exams late into the night, relying on lanterns and phone flashlights for light.
“This is a WAEC examination center in Nigeria. They are currently taking WAEC,” the user added in their post. “It’s 9:42 p.m., and students have to utilize lamps to complete their English exam in complete darkness.”
This situation has ignited significant outrage on social media, highlighting ongoing issues related to inadequate infrastructure and the detrimental effects of unreliable electricity on education.
