Man Arrested for Horrific Assault of Young Girl in Jigawa

A 30-year-old individual named Usaini Magaji has been taken into custody by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State on charges of assaulting a 7-year-old girl in the Kaugama Local Government Area.
 
According to a statement by ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, the NSCDC spokesperson, the incident occurred on September 8, 2024, as the young girl attempted to relieve herself near a farm.
 
Mahmud detailed that the suspect allegedly assaulted the child and threatened her with a knife to ensure she remained silent about the event.

“Usaini Magaji, 30, from Katau Dawa Village in Kaugama LGA, was apprehended at around 10:45 AM on a suspected r@pe case involving a 7-year-old girl residing at the same address,” the statement indicated.
 
“The arrest followed a report made by the victim’s father at the NSCDC Divisional office after he was notified by his wife. She informed him that their daughter returned home in distress, bleeding from her private area after going to a nearby location to relieve herself.
 
“Alarmed, he immediately returned home to question his daughter, who revealed that Usaini had assaulted her at the farm and intimidated her with a knife, warning her not to tell anyone.
 
“During interrogation, the suspect admitted to committing the act against the young girl to fulfill his s3xual desires.
 
“Medical assessments at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Dutse General Hospital revealed evidence of recent penetration, hymen disruption, and injuries in the vaginal area.
 
“The suspect will be presented in court after the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.”
