Federal Agents Raid Diddy’s Jail Cell

Federal authorities have reportedly conducted a raid on the jail cell of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the well-known hip-hop figure and record producer, seizing several confidential documents.

According to TMZ, Combs’ attorney alleges that federal investigators confiscated critical notes intended for Diddy’s legal defense as he prepares for an upcoming trial. This operation took place while he was still in police custody in New York City.

In a letter for a prompt hearing, Combs’ lawyers stated that federal prosecutors collected “privileged materials, including the defendant’s private notes” during the search of his cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center situated in Brooklyn.

These materials were referenced in documents filed by the government in a Manhattan federal court on Friday, which aimed to keep Diddy incarcerated ahead of his trial set for May 5.

“This search and seizure are a violation of Mr. Combs’ Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights,”
his attorneys argued in front of Judge Arun Subramanian.

“The deliberate collection of a pre-trial detainee’s work and confidential documents crafted for trial preparation is an outrageous action by the government, constituting a significant due process infringement,” they further commented.

The legal team has requested that prosecutors clarify who approved the search of Combs’ cell, during which personal belongings and documents were taken.

Judge Subramanian has given the prosecutors until 5 p.m. ET on Monday to respond to Combs’ attorneys and scheduled a hearing for the following afternoon.
Diddy has been in pre-trial detention awaiting his court case since September.

He has entered a not guilty plea against allegations that he has “led a racketeering conspiracy involving s3x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other offenses.”

Currently, Combs is pursuing a house arrest arrangement through a $50 million bail offer.
