Barcelona Faces New Injury Setback Before Champions League Comeback

Barcelona suffer fresh injury blow ahead of Champions League return image

On November 26, Barcelona will face off against Stade Brest as they make their return to the UEFA Champions League.

Recently, Hansi Flick’s squad has struggled, collecting only one point from their last two matches in La Liga around the November international break.

In their latest domestic outing, the team managed a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo, letting go of a two-goal advantage in the last moments.

This setback has allowed Real Madrid to potentially narrow the title race to just one point if they win their two outstanding matches.

With nine points accumulated thus far in the Champions League, Flick faces several decisions as the team prepares for their fifth group match.

Unfortunately, star winger Lamine Yamal will be absent once more for the match against the French side.

The 17-year-old has missed the last two games along with his national duty with Spain due to an ankle injury.

His absence has coincided with the team’s decline in performance, underscoring his vital role in Flick’s strategy.

While there was hope that Yamal might be fit to return for the game against Stade Brest, a report from Diario AS suggests he will still be sidelined.

Despite participating in a warm-down session following the Celta Vigo match, he is still experiencing ankle pain.

Barcelona will proceed with caution regarding his recovery, with another evaluation scheduled before their home match against Las Palmas on November 30.
