Michelin award-winning chef Melissa O’Donnell is headed to Sag Harbor this summer to open a sea-to-table pop-up experience, Page Six can exclusively reveal. O’Donnell, the famed chef behind New York City’s Stella, Li’l Gem, Salt Bar and more, has won five Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. In partnership with livestream culinary platform Kittch, she will open Sag Harbor Kitchen in the space formerly belonging to Dockside within the American Legion building.
An insider tells Page Six that Sag Harbor Kitchen will “build on the American Legion’s history and legacy” and will “benefit veterans and honor the community.” O’Donnell hopes that the “community focus” of the space will introduce “neighbors to each other.” She said in a statement that her culinary inspiration for the pop-up are the great waterfronts from Lisbon to Sicily to Beirut, yet they have crafted a uniquely Sag Harbor cuisine.
The pop-up will have a limited menu beginning Memorial Day weekend and will host a grand opening on June 15. More than just a sit-down restaurant, Sag Harbor Kitchen will also host special events, backgammon, weekly jazz suppers, après-beach cocktail hours and more. While Sag Harbor Kitchen will mostly take walk-ins, there will be a limited number of reservations set aside. Special events, which will involve world-renowned chefs, will be invitation-only.
Given O’Donnell’s partnership with Kittch, Sag Harbor Kitchen will also feature classes and livestreams for the platform’s users. Kittch launched in 2022 and served as NBA star LeBron James’ first foray into the culinary space when he invested in the platform ahead of its launch. Celebrity chefs involved in Kittch include Marcus Samuelsson, Amanda Freitag, Amanda Schulman and many more.
