When paramedics arrived, they immediately performed CPR and the songstress was rushed to the hospital.

However, she was pronounced dead just a few hours later. She was 54.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Lisa Marie had actually died due to complications from weight-loss surgery — which many of her friends knew nothing about.

According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner, the singer died of a bowel obstruction which was a result of adhesions caused by the bariatric surgery.

Bariatric surgery can create scar tissue that can strangulate the intestines, which is what happened in Lisa Marie’s case.

Sources told Page Six that Lisa Marie had been complaining of abdominal pain in the days before her death and the autopsy noted she had suffered stomach pain hours before going into cardiac arrest at her home.

While she had “therapeutic” levels of oxycodone, opioid buprenorphine — a drug used to treat addiction — and antipsychotic drug quetiapine in her system, they did not contribute to her death.
