Shannen Doherty’s rep has revealed to Page Six that the “Charmed” star had no other option but to file for divorce from her husband Kurt Iswarienko. Leslie Sloane, Doherty’s publicist, stated that “divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted”. Sloane also suggested that another woman was involved in the split, suggesting to contact Kurt’s agent Collier Grimm at PICTUREKID.
TMZ reported that Doherty filed the divorce documents on Friday in Los Angeles, claiming that the two had been separated since January. Sources told the outlet that Doherty is not well health-wise, making the split even more difficult. Doherty had previously said in an interview with People magazine that her first battle with breast cancer changed her marriage with Iswarienko for the better.
Doherty is asking for spousal support, but not to be awarded to Iswarienko. The couple have been married since October 2011 and have no children. There is reportedly no prenup between the actress and the photographer. Doherty is being represented by celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser. This is Doherty’s third marriage, having previously been married to actor Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994 and poker player Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003.
