BUZZ: Shannen Doherty shares ‘what cancer can look like’ moments before brain surgery: ‘I am petrified’

Shannen Doherty shared an honest video showing people “what cancer can look like” just moments before she underwent surgery to remove a tumor in her head.

The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star, who is in the midst of her stage 4 breast cancer battle, has been keeping fans updated on her uphill health battle.

“January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy. I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” the 52-year-old captioned the throwback clip. “The fear was overwhelming to me.”

“Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore.”

“This is what cancer can look like,” she added.

The video came just days after she shared a heartbreaking update on her condition, revealing to her 2 million Instagram fans that the cancer has spread to her brain.

“January 12, the first round of radiation took place,” she wrote last week. “My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic, and there was a lot going on in my life.”

The CT scan showed that the “Charmed” alum had brain metastases — a condition that occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site to the brain, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Doherty also shared a video from January of herself getting fitted for the mask.

“I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at Cedar Sinai,” she went on. “But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”

The actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in March 2015, announced in February 2020 that she was battling stage 4 breast cancer.

The update came three years after she shared that her first bout with cancer had gone into remission.

In 2021, Doherty told fans that she was “fighting to stay alive.”

“I never want to operate [like I’m dying],” she said on “Good Morning America” at the time.

“I just want to operate as I don’t have things to check off because I’m going to keep fighting to stay alive,” she added, referring to why she doesn’t particularly like the idea of making a “bucket list.”
