However, Robbie believed that wearing a robe did not align with her character Naomi Lapaglia‘s actions. She explained on the “Talking Pictures” podcast that the decision for nudity came entirely from her, as reported by outkick.com.
“That’s not how she would act in that moment. The intention is for her to be entirely naked; that plays into her strategy,” Robbie stated regarding her character’s seduction of wealthy broker Jordan Belfort, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Ultimately, Robbie’s instinct proved correct, and she later mentioned that she shifted a scene from a kiss to a slap within the same film.
“I thought kissing Leonardo DiCaprio would be amazing, something I’d brag about to my friends. But then I reconsidered… and just slapped him instead,” she recounted.
Scorsese and DiCaprio paused in surprise, leaving her worried that she jeopardized her acting career. However, after a brief awkward moment, they burst into laughter.
