JoJo Siwa Recalls Unpleasant Encounter with Candace Cameron Bure
Unexpected Drama Between JoJo Siwa and Candace Cameron Bure unfolded when Siwa labeled Bure as the “rudest celebrity” she had ever met during Siwa’s early adolescent years. Siwa later clarified that the conflict arose when she sought a photo with Bure at the “Fuller House” premiere, to which Bure inadvertently turned down the young fan. Apologetically, Bure expressed regret, stating, “I feel crummy, I feel — JoJo, I’m so sorry,” via an Instagram post.
Siwa initially dismissed the incident, acknowledging Bure’s perspective. “I was 11, and I was a big, big fan, and I wanted to take a picture with her, and it wasn’t a good time for her,” Siwa mentioned in an interview with Page Six. However, the situation shifted when Bure’s controversial stance on “traditional marriage” made headlines. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Siwa felt compelled to address the hurt caused by Bure’s remarks.
“Not everything needs to be gay, essentially. But when you’re doing it out of spite to say, ‘Too much is about LGBTQ right now, you guys suck and I want to make a movie about traditional marriage, and you’re not traditional,’ that got to me a little bit,” Siwa expressed during a “Viall Files” podcast appearance. Siwa emphasized her commitment to defending her community and called out Bure for her comments.
