With Super Bowl LIX on the horizon, Travis Kelce has sparked controversy—not due to his performance but because of comments regarding Donald Trump. Fans of Taylor Swift are expressing their outrage following Kelce’s remarks about Trump’s attendance at the game.
In a recent interview, Kelce was posed a question about Trump‘s upcoming appearance during the championship event.
Kelce responded, “It’s a great honor.”

Kelce elaborated, “It doesn’t matter who the president is; I’m just thrilled because it’s the biggest game of my life. Having the president there is special, given that we live in the best country.”
However, his comments have not resonated well with many Swift fans—known as Swifties—who are upset due to Trump’s past tensions with Swift, especially following his derogatory comments about her on social media last year.
Swifties urge Taylor to reconsider her relationship with Kelce
The backlash from Swift‘s fans was immediate, with many suggesting she should break up with Kelce.
One fan tweeted, “@eagles all the way this Sunday. I’ve lost all respect for Travis Kelce for supporting an orange lunatic. How can Swift stay with him?”
Another added, “It’s disappointing since the Eagles didn’t send players and Trump rescinded his invitation in 2018. Given Kelce‘s previous commentary on social justice, this feels off.”
A third fan remarked, “Remember when Swift said she didn’t care about Trump’s threats? Kelce could have taken a similar stance.”
The discord between Trump and Swift traces back years, particularly in 2018 when Swift began endorsing Democratic candidates, provoking Trump’s mockery. Their rivalry intensified as Trump made negative comments about her influential role ahead of the 2024 presidential election, culminating in his infamous “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” shoutout.
