A warm welcome at the airport was extended by Mongolian officials, including Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg and the Ambassador to Vietnam, Jigjee Sereejav. On the Vietnamese side, Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh and members from the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia were present, alongside many Vietnamese expatriates.
The atmosphere was festive, marked by the fluttering flags of both nations and a ceremonial guard along the red carpet, all set against a snowy backdrop. Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam, introducing him to the Mongolian delegation.
Exciting events are in store for the visit, including a formal welcome by President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. Leaders will engage in talks focused on strategic initiatives and cooperation in key areas like politics, diplomacy, economic development, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
During his visit, General Secretary and President To Lam plans to meet with Mongolia’s Prime Minister, the Chairman of Parliament, and executives from major business groups. New agreements are expected to emerge from these discussions to advance their mutual goals.
This state visit marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia, adding a significant layer to the trip. Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized that the main aim is to strengthen the bilateral relationship, showcasing the enduring potential and historical connections between the two nations.
A Vietnamese Culture Day event is scheduled for September 30 to October 1 in Ulaanbaatar, celebrating the friendship and shared understanding between the people of both countries.
