The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has called on President Bola Tinubu to caution ministers who ignore invitations from the National Assembly.
He argued that such individuals do not embody democratic values and thus should not be part of the government.
This statement was made on Wednesday as President Tinubu presented the 2025 budget proposal of N49.7 trillion to a combined session of the National Assembly.
In front of a gathering that included both Senate and House members, Akpabio reiterated that those who fail to respond to the National Assembly’s invites are lacking in democratic principles and consequently should not be included in Tinubu’s administration.
“Those who disregard invitation by the National Assembly are not democratic and therefore have no place in your government,” he stated.
