A coalition of civil society groups and advocates for democracy gathered to voice their concerns about the nation’s worsening economic conditions and increasing insecurity during President Bola Tinubu’s tenure.

On Thursday morning, a substantial police presence, including members from the Nigeria Police Force’s Area F Division, was noted as activists began to gather at Ikeja Underbridge in Lagos to commemorate June 12 Democracy Day.

This group of demonstrators, consisting of civil society organizations and pro-democracy supporters, came together to highlight their discontent regarding the nation’s declining economy and rising levels of insecurity under the current leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Although the protest has not formally started, law enforcement agencies are on high alert in anticipation of the events.
