She said the man who was given the 20-year sentence “has to live with the consequences”.
Mujtaba Tadayl, a lawyer for the girl’s family, said she “doesn’t know what to do”.
“We are satisfied with the decision which delivered justice to the victim,” he said.
“That said, we do not understand why two of the accused have been only sentenced to 10 years,” he said, adding that he was considering a further appeal to the Court of Cassation “after consulting the child’s family”.
The appeals court’s decision to increase the jail sentences against three men convicted of “indecent assault” has caused a outcry in the North African country, and a petition condemning the March 20 sentences has amassed tens of thousands of signatures.
