A tragic incident unfolded as the lifeless body of Glory Adekolure, a recent graduate of the University of Benin, was discovered under a tree in the Iyowa Community of Benin City, near her residence. She had gone to school for her final clearance on June 13, 2024.

The Edo State Police Command has made a breakthrough by apprehending the alleged perpetrator of this heinous crime in Asaba, Delta State, 15 days after Adekolure’s demise.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, revealed in an interview with Channels Television that the suspect not only confessed to killing Adekolure but also admitted to the murders of at least eight other young women.

The suspect’s capture brings some closure to this tragic event, although the investigation is still ongoing, according to Adegboye.

The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed, and he has yet to be publicly paraded as the police continue their efforts to unravel the full extent of his crimes.
