Suspected Cultist Arrested for Assault and Arson
The Ogun State Police has apprehended a suspect known as Peter Falola, or ‘Black Jesus,’ linked to a series of criminal activities including assault, arson, and property damage exceeding N1.4 million in the Agbado region.
According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, Falola was detained on January 20, having allegedly invaded the home of Oladipupo Adeniran on January 15 around 9:00 am, where violent threats were made to burn the property.
Details surrounding the incident indicate that Falola attacked Adeniran with a beer bottle, causing significant injury. Neighbors transported Adeniran to receive medical care.
In the wake of the attack, it was reported that Falola set fire to the victim’s home, with damages assessed at over N1.4 million. Items destroyed included a gas cylinder, a ceiling fan, an Itel Android phone, furniture, and several windows, with severe damage to living spaces.
Odutola remarked, “He violently entered the victim’s home, issuing threats and inflicting injuries by striking Adeniran with a bottle.”
Falola is currently in custody and being interrogated by officers, with plans to transfer him to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abeokuta for further inquiry after the incident was reported on January 20, 2025.
