The police have successfully apprehended a dangerous robbery gang that has been causing distress in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.
In a statement from the police spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, issued on October 15, 2024, he attributed this achievement to improved security strategies implemented under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, to address violent crimes.
“At approximately 3:20 am on October 15, 2024, a patrol unit from the Owerri North Divisional Headquarters acted promptly to a distress call about an armed robbery occurring on Dominion Street, near Don Kay in Owerri North LGA,” the statement reported.

“In the exchange, one suspect was killed, while another, identified as Moses Nanzi, 31, from Faringada in Plateau State, was shot and taken into custody. Several members of the gang managed to escape into nearby bushes.”
