Governor Umahi Dismisses Aides 48 Hours After Election

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has terminated the services of the board members of state-owned agencies, commissions, and 64 Development Centre Coordinators. The cause of the dismissals has not been revealed. Those affected must surrender all government property, including official vehicles, by the end of office hours on Monday, March 20.

A statement issued by the Secretary to Ebonyi State Government, Dr. Ugbala Kenneth, stated that the Governor has dissolved the boards and commissions, except for the Ebonyi State University Governing Council. The Development Centre Coordinators must submit all government property in their possession, including their official vehicles, to the office of the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner by Tuesday, March 21. Additionally, the boards and commissions must hand over government property to their parent ministries by the same date.
