Mallam Nuhu Ribadu
The late Ummu Iya Abubakar (Babba), mother-in-law of National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, was laid to rest on Tuesday, with prominent personalities in attendance.
Among those present at the funeral service were the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Ministers such as Prof Tahir Mamman and Arc Ahmed Dangiwa graced the occasion, alongside Mohammed Mohammed and Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar from the NIA, Dr Aliyu Modibbo, the former FCT Minister, and others.
Earlier, news emerged of the passing of Ribadu’s mother-in-law on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The Janaiza prayers were conducted at 1:30 pm after Zuhr prayers at the Central Mosque in Abuja, followed by her burial at Gudu Cemetery in Abuja.
“We belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return — QURAN 2:156. Senator (Prof) Iya Abubakar and family announce with sadness the passing of Hajiya Ummu Iya Abubakar (Babba) on August 27, 2024.”
“May Allah SWT reward her good deeds, forgive her sins, shine light on her grave, and grant her the highest place in Jannah Al Firdaus. Ameen,” expressed the family in a statement.
