Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State recently visited the family of the late Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, who passed away at the age of 72 on July 30, 2024.
Onwenu collapsed after performing at a birthday celebration and was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
During his condolence visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his sympathy, praising Onwenu’s remarkable life and the enduring impact of her timeless music.
He highlighted her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought through her art, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and honored. The Governor prayed for strength for Onwenu’s family to cope with the loss.
