Legislature Resumes Earlier than Scheduled

National Assembly Cuts Short Break To Resume On Thursday

Both the Senate and House of Representatives have decided to cut short their break due to pressing national matters and will reconvene on Thursday, June 27, instead of the initially planned date of July 2.

The decision to resume earlier was confirmed by Senator Yemi Adaramodu and Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the chairman of Senate committees on media and public affairs, and the Clerk of the House of Representatives, respectively.

The resumption was prompted by the need to address important issues such as appropriations, constitutional and electoral matters, according to Adaramodu.

Danzaria, in an internal memo, informed the House members of the change in the resumption date from July 2 to June 27, 2024, urging them to adjust their schedules accordingly.

One of the key topics to be discussed upon resumption is the 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Bill expected to be presented by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly.
