Reports indicate that the deceased initially had doubts about the marriage but was convinced by family to proceed.

In Kano State, a newlywed named Saudat has been detained for allegedly murdering her husband, Salisu, just nine days after their wedding.

According to Leadership, this tragic event occurred in the Farawa area shortly after the couple’s marriage on April 27, 2025.

The marriage was reportedly arranged by family members, lacking genuine affection between the couple.

Sources say Salisu had expressed concerns about the relationship but was urged by his relatives to continue with the marriage.

While details around the argument that led to the tragedy remain vague, locals suspect that Saudat might have poisoned her husband before stabbing him during a dispute.

The community reacted with anger, and a group of youths tried to assault Saudat, but swift action by security forces ensured her safety and she was placed under arrest.

As of now, the Kano State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
