The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has apprehended a group of Nigerian individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities.
This operation was prompted by their involvement in a robbery at a currency exchange in the Al-Mahboula district, where they stole approximately KD 4,600 (around USD 16,500).
According to a press statement released on January 22, 2025, the operation was carefully planned, with the group observing the currency exchange from the roofs of adjacent buildings. They disguised their vehicle’s license plates using metal covers during the act.
Investigators were able to track down one member of the gang, who admitted to surveilling the exchange and tipping off another accomplice, who was apprehended in the Aswaq Al-Qurain area.
Upon searching his residence, authorities recovered the stolen money and a bag containing methamphetamine.
The Ministry confirmed that both individuals have been handed over to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings.
