Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, has made a bold statement saying that in seven years, Nigeria will undergo such radical transformations that its populace will struggle to recognize their own country. This pronouncement was made during the inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja where Akpabio urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its prosperity.
Under Tinubu’s government, which began last May, there has been contention due to the removal of fuel subsidies causing a spike in living costs and hardships for the citizens. Despite this, Akpabio believes with public support, the Tinubu administration will flourish.
During the event in Abuja, Akpabio highlighted the need for citizens to back the government to bring about a positive change. He also praised President Tinubu for selecting Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), acknowledging his prowess in strategic appointments.
The launch of the Abuja project, according to Akpabio, showcases the government’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of FCT residents. He emphasized the importance of developing infrastructures that cater to the needs of the people.
FCT Minister, Wike, expressed gratitude to Tinubu and the National Assembly for their support, promising the people of FCT that all ongoing development projects would be completed. He reassured the public that the era of abandoned initiatives was coming to an end despite the rising security challenges like kidnappings in the region.
Wike pointed out that the completion of such projects would improve transportation, reduce crime, and enhance security in the FCT, providing a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.
