Paul Pogba’s Anticipated Comeback Postponed
Paul Pogba
Supporters of French football star Paul Pogba are disheartened as his much-anticipated return to the football field has been cancelled just days before his scheduled appearance.
Initially, Pogba faced a four-year ban after a positive test for elevated testosterone levels during Juventus’ first game of the 2023-24 season. However, he successfully appealed this suspension, resulting in a reduced 18-month ban, allowing him to return to competitive play by March 2025.
At 31 years old, Pogba is eager to relaunch his career following his contract termination with Juventus. He is currently working on his fitness by participating in friendly matches.
His debut for this comeback was planned for the King’s Cup event in Dubai, but he will no longer be part of the match that was scheduled to occur next week in the Middle East.
The exhibition match was intended to feature various football legends, including John Terry and Paul Scholes, alongside Pogba, but has now been cancelled at the last moment.
The event organizers cited ‘unforeseen circumstances’ as the reason for this cancellation, and they have postponed the match until February, offering refunds to ticket buyers.
In their announcement regarding the rescheduling, the organization stated: ‘Dear Football Fans, we regret to inform you that the King’s Cup Dubai has been rescheduled to February 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances.’
They continued, ‘For refunds, please visit the Platinum list website and follow the instructions for your ticket. We will announce the specific dates for the rescheduled event soon, so please stay tuned for updates. Thank you for your understanding and support – Team King’s Cup.’
The abrupt cancellation has left fans frustrated, and many expressed their outrage towards the organizers for the late notice, which created significant issues for those who had purchased tickets.
