Peter Obi Urges Politicians to Use Public Funds for the People’s Benefit

During a visit to the Grimard School of Nursing and Midwifery in Ayingba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), emphasized the importance of using government funds to improve the quality of life of citizens. He stressed that public funds should not be misappropriated for personal gain but should be utilized to uplift the standard of living of the people they serve.

Obi highlighted the significance of understanding that the money entrusted to politicians is not their own but belongs to the public. He emphasized the responsibility of leaders to utilize these funds for the betterment of society, stating, “The money is not our own, it belongs to the people, we are under obligation to spend it on the people.”

Additionally, the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, Anthony Adaji, commended Obi for his dedication to education, citing his remarkable impact on schools during his tenure as governor of Anambra State. Adaji praised Obi’s commitment to education, citing the outstanding academic achievements of students under his leadership.

In his efforts to support local communities, Obi inaugurated two boreholes in Ankpa and Olamaboro local government areas to provide essential water supply to the residents.
