Senator Shehu Sani, a former senator, urged Nigerians to refrain from thinking that the Dangote refinery will resolve their petrol needs like a charity.
This warning follows a statement from the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), indicating that global market dynamics dictate the pricing of fuel from any refinery, including the Dangote Refinery.
Sani reiterated that Aliko Dangote is a businessman primarily interested in profits, not in providing fuel assistance.
He emphasized that the NNPCL remains a crucial entity for ensuring the stability and future of Nigeria’s energy industry.
“Dangote is engaged in business, not charity or social welfare.
“Do not anticipate him to serve as your ‘Father Christmas’ for fuel.
“The NNPCL continues to be key to Nigeria’s energy sector’s future stability.
“I advise you against having unrealistic expectations for support from Aliko,” he concluded.
