Woman And Teenage Girl Arrested As NDLEA Bursts Snake Guarded Shrine
A recent operation by the NDLEA led to the discovery of a shrine in the Igor community of Benin City, Edo State, which was being safeguarded by snakes and utilized for the storage of illicit drugs.

During the raid, two female suspects were apprehended.

The NDLEA made the discovery following the identification of a specially constructed large hole storage in a wall disguised with wallpapers and fetish items.

“Various quantities of illicit substances including methamphetamine, Loud, Colorado, and Arizona, potent strains of cannabis weighing a total of 8.743 kilograms, were unearthed from the deep hole within the shrine building,” the statement revealed.

“Sonia Chinonso Ezumezu and Risikatu Tijani were both arrested during the intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after neutralizing the large black snake guarding the shrine.

“Similarly, two suspects, Obi Ferguson, aged 45, and Ernest Abanum, aged 46, were apprehended on Saturday, June 22, when NDLEA operatives conducted a raid in the Usen forest in Ovia South West LGA, Edo state, where 209kg of cannabis and a motorcycle were seized.”
