Leader of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, shared joy in claiming that more than 50 million individuals participated in the Biafra self-referendum.
On Tuesday, Ekpa made this known on his X page.
The Prime Minister of BRGIE expressed satisfaction in the enthusiasm shown by Biafrans for both e-voting and physical voting, indicating their strong desire for freedom.
He highlighted that the number of Biafrans who participated in the self-referendum vote over the past eight months exceeded the voter turnout in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election, which was 25,286,616.
Ekpa justified the call for self-referendum citing issues such as marginalization, underdevelopment, insecurity, attacks on Christians, and poverty in the South-East and South-South regions.
“It is worth noting that the physical voting cards for the Biafra Self Referendum have received over 50 million votes, double the general election outcome.
“Official registration of 50 million votes in the 40 United States of Biafra has been accomplished.
“We are making progress! Let the historians analyze how we achieved this. Share this story with your children,” he asserted.
Recall that Ekpa recently unveiled a map featuring 40 states, presenting it as the new Biafra map.
