Sonic the Hedgehog Tops Box Office for Second-Straight Weekend
Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog celebrated a second-straight weekend topping the box office after pulling in $26.3 million domestically over the weekend. The movie’s domestic cume of $106.6 million rose the global box office total to $203.1 million.
Disney’s 20th Century Studios The Call of the Wild opened with $24.8 million domestically while bringing in $15.4 million globally and landing in second place. The Harrison Ford-led adaptation has earned a worldwide total of $40.2 million during its theatrical debut.
The Call of the Wild pushed Warner Bros. Pictures’ Birds of Prey to the #3 spot at the box office after a $7 million haul over the weekend. Domestically, the Harley Quinn film now totals $72.5 million after three weeks. Worldwide, the movie’s estimated global gross is now $173.7 million.
Landing at #4, STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment’s horror sequel Brahms: The Boy II debuted with $5.9 million domestically and $2.2 million globally, totaling an $8.1 million worldwide opening.
Sony Pictures’ Bad Boys for Life retained its spot in fifth place after earning an additional $5.9 million over the weekend, bringing the domestic total up to $191.2 million after six weeks. The movie’s worldwide cume now sits at $391.2 million.
