The remains of two young girls were unearthed by the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps in a wooded area in Aramoko-Ekiti.
Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, the Communications Head for the Corps, provided details in a report dated Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The report reveals that the young girls were the victims of a serial killer, Ogunnaike Philip, who has been arrested.
Philip is suspected of murdering at least three girls, including an 18-year-old, across different locations in Ogun State.
During a month-long stay in the IIao region of Aramoko-Ekiti, he allegedly committed the killings of two girls, named Taiwo and Fatoki Seun.
“Taiwo’s skeletal remains were located in a bush near Egbewa street, behind an unfinished structure, while the body of 18-year-old Fatoki Seun was found at Oke-Oja street in the same locality,” the report indicated.
“The Ekiti West Local Government Command noted that the advanced decomposition of the bodies resulted in a foul odor due to the presence of maggots at the site.”
“Health and Environmental Officers in Aramoko-Ekiti have since moved the remains to the town’s General Hospital.”
