Prof. Ruth Haruna Wazis, who served as the former Head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Maiduguri, has passed away in a devastating accident at her residence.
The sad news was confirmed by the Borno State Police Command, revealing that the incident took place at her home.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Yusuf Lawal, informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the tragedy occurred on June 30, 2024.
Lawal explained that while parking her car in the garage, a sudden mechanical fault caused the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, resulting in her being knocked down and her chest getting injured. Unfortunately, she couldn’t survive the injuries before she could be rushed to the hospital.
Her family members transported her remains to the hospital following the incident.
