Monalisa Osayi, who gained attention from a viral video showing her attacking a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, has been taken to court. The incident occurred on December 7, 2024, involving Officer Habeeb Ndaman Sayidi from the Lekki Unit Command during a regular patrol.

On December 15, 2024, at around 4:05 PM, she was arrested by the Unit Commander after a week-long search to hold her accountable for the incident. Initially granted bail by the Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, she was re-arrested through careful planning by the Unit Commander.

The video displaying her aggressive behavior toward the FRSC officer raised questions about her motives during the confrontation.

On December 16, 2024, Osayi appeared before Court 3 of the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court, with Magistrate Oyaniyi FP overseeing the case.

She entered a plea of not guilty to charges of assault and disturbing public peace by inciting local residents against the patrol team during their official duties.

The court has set stringent bail conditions for her release, demanding a payment of 100,000 Naira along with two sureties from her family who must provide valid tax clearance. If she cannot comply with these requirements, Osayi will remain at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison.

The case is scheduled for a follow-up on January 8, 2025.
