Pharrell Williams Critiques Celebrity Political Endorsements
Pharrell Williams, the prominent hip-hop producer, has expressed his discontent with celebrities who make public political endorsements.
In the lead-up to the upcoming presidential election in November, Williams shared his views, identifying himself as apolitical and voicing irritation toward his peers who advocate for political candidates.
“I don’t engage in politics. I often feel bothered when celebrities try to influence your voting decisions,” he remarked during a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.
Williams expanded on his thoughts, stating that many celebrity endorsements for election candidates are unsolicited.
“While I value the opinions of certain celebrities, not all warrant a platform. I sometimes find myself thinking, ‘Why are they talking? No one asked for their opinion’,” he added.
It’s worth noting that several American celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish, have shown public support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Conversely, former President Donald Trump has received endorsements from figures such as billionaire Elon Musk and Blac Chyna among others.
