Rochas Okorocha
Ebere Nzeworji, an aide to former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, has refuted death rumors regarding his boss, affirming that Okorocha is alive and in good health.
In a statement released on Thursday morning in Abuja, Nzeworji stated that “a false viral message appeared on social media on the evening of Wednesday, November 6, claiming that Okorocha died in a London hospital.”
Nzeworji highlighted that Okorocha was seen at his office in Abuja when the rumors began and had just returned from Owerri, where he attended the funeral of the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on Friday, November 1. He also hosted Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and other dignitaries at his residence afterwards.
He questioned the motives behind such misleading information, adding, “One can now begin to wonder about the motives of those behind this fake news.”
Nzeworji emphasized that Senator Okorocha has consistently been a dedicated public servant who has fostered strong relationships across Nigeria and beyond. He noted that Okorocha has never wished ill upon anyone and maintains a positive outlook on life.
He urged all concerned Nigerians and the international community to ignore the false rumors, assuring them that “His Excellency, Senator Rochas Okorocha, is healthy and doing well.”
