Early Friday morning, a tragic incident occurred at a popular nightclub in Benin City where a patron was shot dead, and his girlfriend was wounded.
As reported by Daily Post, an anonymous source revealed that the victim’s body has been taken to a mortuary, while the girlfriend has been hospitalized for her injuries.
The identity of the victim is yet to be confirmed, but it was stated he was planning to move into his new home by the end of December.
Witness accounts regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting are varied. One source mentioned that the victim had an argument with another guest after accidentally spilling a drink on him.
After the victim apologized, the other guest seemingly forgave him and stepped outside, where he reportedly called for his friends.
Shortly after the victim got into his white Lexus SUV, gunmen attacked, fatally shooting him inside the vehicle, with stray bullets striking his girlfriend in the leg.
Alternatively, some speculate that the shooting might be linked to a troubled business deal, suggesting that the victim may have breached an agreement with associates.
A visit to the nightclub showed significant damage, including shattered glass doors and property destruction during the violent episode.
Police from Nigeria were present at the scene, and the victim’s white Lexus was seen being removed by a towing service.
