The strain between Christina Haack and Josh Hall is unfolding online like a scripted reality series.
HGTV released footage from “The Flip Off” that showcased their turbulent marriage, including Hall’s harsh words.
“I wish you’d shut up already,” he expressed during the clip. Initially, the show was meant to feature Haack
and Hall competing against her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
However, with their split in July 2024 during filming, production reportedly would move on “without him,”
according to a source. While Hall’s on-screen involvement may have been minimal, he was a focal point in the promotional
content leading up to the show’s launch on January 29.
Following the release of the heated argument clip, Hall took to Instagram to criticize Haack and HGTV.
“TFW when you can’t get enough ratings with celebrity [home] designers, so you rely on manufactured drama with me,”
he posted on January 6.
Shortly after, Haack responded on her own Instagram Stories, refuting Hall’s “manufactured” allegations.
“Pretty sure no one at Hgtv told you to be rude to me … that was all natural,” she countered, while also sharing
a selfie that showed her looking upset. “This was taken June 21, 2024. After one of my shoots with Josh,” she mentioned,
hinting at further discord as she took jabs at her ex.
Looking for Empathy
On the same day Haack reacted to Hall’s claims about “manufactured drama,” she shared a preview of
her new series, “The Flip Off.” Although their split altered the show’s dynamics, early footage suggests their
divorce will play a significant role. In a clip shared on January 6, which also featured her ex-husband Tarek El
Moussa, Haack discussed their volatile moments, saying, “We had a blow up. Middle fingers in my face,” with the
caption reading “The truth comes out.”
Haack’s efforts to promote her show and critique her ex persisted the following day as she posted
a selfie on Instagram. In the caption, she reflected on the lessons learned through the year: “awareness of past
patterns, not ignoring my intuition & gut instincts,” and emphasized the importance of facing difficult conversations,
which was suspiciously queued right after her online spat with Hall.
Previously, in August 2024, Hall sought sympathy regarding their divorce after financial details surfaced.
He expressed a desire for privacy during such a significant life change. Haack had publicly pointed out Hall’s
request for $65,000 in monthly spousal support before officially distancing herself from him by reverting to her
maiden name on social media.
